Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Malta Day 3 - Anna Romysh Haute Couture

The second fashion show last Monday, was The Anna Romysh Haute Couture collection. This show was presented by the top brand in the Farage Group portfolio.

Since the dresses are Haute Couture, they are mostly one of a kind and are produced once and they are all original. These gowns are hand-made with materials such as lace and embellished with Swarovski crystals attached on them.

Starting in 1991 till now, Anna Romysh had demonstrated incredible talent on cat walks, weddings and on red carpets. The gowns are designed for the bride to feel and look vibrant, distinctive and natural.
You can find her creations in various showrooms such as in Paris, New York, Farage Maison and at Wedding Bells in Valletta.

Both her and the models did a very good job for the elegant and beautiful show.

Outfit Post: Casual, Smart and Comfortable.

Did you ever find that you have one pair of jeans that is so comfortable that you want to wear it everyday?
Well, this is what happened to me a couple of times. And recently I found the perfect pair for such a bargain.

This pair of jeans is from Terranova and with it I wore a light pink Ralph Lauren polo t-shirt which I tucked in from one side. The jeans has a medium wash and it is also ripped. For this look I rolled up the ends. The black handbag is from Michael Kors and I love it so much because it holds a lot in it. The lovely rose gold sandals are from New Look. I wore this outfit for day 2 of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Malta last Sunday. I chose this look because it is nice, comfortable and also smart. Also because in the evening the weather gets a little bit chilly, the venue grounds are not that great for heels and there is a lot of walking to do.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Malta - Printed Silk Scarfs By Saz Mifsud

Last Sunday an exhibition of printed silk scarves by Saz Mifsud opened at Fort St Angelo.
This exhibition is going to be showing for the whole week of Malta Fashion Week 2016.

About Saz Mifsud and her collections:
These scarves are the designer's own paintings printed on silk material. She turns her paintings into pieces of clothing. As Saz said: "This concept has evolved from the desire to give every woman a print of her own." Each print tells the story of different elements that have inspired her.
Her collections are printed and made from a series of drawings, paintings and collages. She also is constantly experimenting with new media and after the experiments take place, she then transfers them to the computer where further experimentation takes place in digital form.

In her work she uses a combination of hand and digital painting which takes life when digitally printed onto different kinds of silk. She also is inspired by the way different silk absorbs colour and her range includes: chiffon, habotai, satin, georgette and silk crepe. Her passion for colour and natural fibres is what drives this approach to scarf making.

The collection showcased at Fort St Angelo is called Pollen's Poetry. The silk scarves where inspired by the Ephemerality of a flower and the concept of using the ephemeral qualities of flowers and plants to inspire silk prints that will last forever. The clear prints fading into blurred abstractions,
bold colours fading into grey hues make the scarves unique.

Malta Fashion Week 2016 Day 1 - New Designers

Today marks the opening of the Mercedes-Benz Malta Fashion Week and Awards. It was held at Republic Street,Valletta and the weather was fantastic.

7 new local and foreign designers showcased their designs today to the public for the fist time.
The designers are: Lukka Pizzuto, Maria Cutajar, Mari Ahoy, Giulia Pandolfino, Nathan Micallef, Malcolm Cremona and Gabrielle Fenech.

The first to showcase his designs was Lukka Pizzuto.
His collection is called 'Night Mist' and used dark shades such as blue and black. The collection consists of waistcoats, coats and blazers. Lukka has designs for both man and woman.

The second designer was Maria Cutajar.
Her collection is called 'Summer Breeze' and she used bright and contrasting colours such as white, purple and yellow. Maria was inspired by ripples of the sea and the wrinkled breeze created on the sea. The soft fabrics she used represent the wind and the layering of the fabrics represent the ripples of the sea.

Mari Ahoy was the third new designer for the day.
Mari is from Finland and was inspired for her collection by Nordic designs. In her designs she made a search of adventure and curiosity, these are seen in innovative cuts and lined blurring garment types. The collection is named 'Form follows feeling'.

The fourth designer was Giulia Pandolfino.
Her collection is called 'Island Swimwear', her swimsuits are a debut collection called Active Allure. It is inspired by sports luxury mixed with lingerie influences along with repetitive gold strappy details.

The next designer was Nathan Micallef.
He is currently living in London and gets his inspiration mostly from everyday life experiences and surroundings. He likes to take the viewer on a journey to understand his point of view. While making his clothing accessible he tries to make the wearer feel confident through clothing.

The sixth designer was Malcolm Cremona.
Malcolm usually he has both female and male clothing but in this collection he wanted to focus more on feminine fashion. With his collection he feels that when women wear his clothes they can be inspirational and give inspirational messages for life through their garments while being beautiful.
Some of the inspirational words on his garments are: dream, imagine, believe, create, inspire and achieve.

The final designer for today was Gabrielle Fenech.
2016 is the 30th anniversary from the Chernobyl nuclear explosion. Gabrielle's collection is called 'Pripyat' named after the village that hosted the nuclear plant in Ukraine. She has a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Beauty Night Out

Beauty Night Out

Last night (8th March 2016) Melita Health and Beauty Clinic, hosted a beauty night out for bloggers and they invited me to join them for this event.

The staff were very lovely and helpful and gave us a warm welcome.

We had the chance to wonder around the shop and sample different make up products while chatting with other bloggers and vloggers.

Some brands found in the shop are: Sleek, Givenchy, Clinique, Rimmel, L'Oreal, Max Factor Bourjois and more. You can also find skincare products.

We were given 15% off any item if we wanted to buy anything and I bought this Rimmel 'Kate' lipstick in shade 104 and a Max Factor Face Finity Primer.

They were very generous to give us a small goody bag filled with samples for us to try.
